Phoebe was born in Sylacauga, Alabama and around age six moved to Marietta (Atlanta). Phoebe is a second-generation REALTOR® with 34 years in the business of helping people buy and sell real estate. Currently, she is a co-owner of Signature Properties Group, Inc., which she helped found in Spring of 2003 after leaving Sea Island Properties. Relocating from Atlanta to St. Simons Island in the mid-90's, Phoebe continues to be one of the top producers in the Golden Isles, but is enjoying the slower pace of life in Coastal Georgia and an improved balance between her personal and her professional life. Phoebe works as a team with her husband, Gene, and Amy Houston, under the name "Team Hoaster".

"We moved to Saint Simons Island seventeen years ago; Gene grew up on Saint Simons and we were excited at the chance to live on the Georgia Coast. Gene and I have been married for 25 years - it´s been great, he´s my best friend, funny man, loves to laugh; full of life, kind, tender hearted. I´ve been truly Blessed."

As a former Owner and Managing Broker of a RE/MAX office in Marietta, Georgia, Phoebe is no stranger to the demands of a busy, high-profile real estate office, only this time, she is happy to pass on the Managing Broker responsibilities to focus on what she does and enjoys best: helping people with all their real estate needs.

In the early 90's, Phoebe ranked among the Top 1% of all REALTORS® in the country for five consecutive years and always ranks in the top 5% in the Golden Isles Association of Realtors.

"I´ve been in Real Estate since 1977 and I have seen interest rates as high as 18% - arms with negative amortization, you name it I´ve seen it.   I remember we would sell FHA & VA Loan Assumptions, but that´s been awhile!  My first job was with the Jack W. Boone Company; I was trained by Jack. Then I went to work with Coldwell Banker & trained with John Barnes and Marilyn Glasser. Over the years I´ve been to Floyd Wickman "Sweathogs" three times, Tommy Hopkins, Zig Ziglar; loved it! I´d pull my son out of school to see various motivational speakers, Lou Holtz, spots figures, etc; I am a sponge for information and inspiration. I´m very spiritual and believe we receive synergy from others who share their gifts with us."

When she's not working with clients, spending time with her family or involved with her church, Phoebe enjoys painting, sculpting and traveling... especially to Africa! She has traveled to many places all over the world - Haiti, France, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, and all over the US as well - the Grand Canyon, California, New York - can you tell she loves to travel?

"I´m very active with Saint Simons Community Church, and involved with the Mission Trips. I have been blessed to join our Mission Team on trips to Africa, Haiti, Nicaragua, and closer to home Biloxi, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. We are also very devoted to the Relay for Life event and this year our office raised $16,000 for the American Cancer Society."

Phoebe and Gene reside on the Island with their dogs, Mulligan and Birdie. The Hoasters have four children and nine grand-children and 4 greatgrands in whom they take great pride and joy.

"My hobbies are gardening and photography. I love repotting plants and the thrill of a reblooming orchid! I am a self-taught photographer; it started with my son and has continued on with homes, flowers, nature, grandchildren3; you name it and I´ve taken a picture of it! My grandchildren affectionately call me Flash Grandma.

Photos of African animals cover the walls in my office; a huge photo of the Avenue of the Live-Oaks hangs in our reception area. We are all so Blessed to live on Saint Simons Island! I´m not happy unless I am juggling listings & sales, friends, family, and I am a grandmother of 9 and 4 grandgrands so needless to say I stay busy. I love helping people realize their Dream3; that´s what it´s all about!
